Concussion Signs and Symptoms

Use the following list to help determine if your athlete has had a brain injury. Anyone of these signs can indicate a concussion.

Concussions are usually caused by a blow to the head, but not always. Continually assess your athletes. Athletes with potential concussions are not allowed to re-enter practice or competitions.

• Loss of consciousness (even briefly)

• Nausea or vomiting

• Ringing in the ears

• Feeling light- headed or dizzy

• Memory troubles

• Trouble with balance

• Answers questions slowly

• Dazed or stunned

• Confused

• Forgetful

• Moving slowly or clumsily

• Headache

• Blurred Vision

• Sensitivity to light

• Sensitivity to noise

• Concentration problems
